Last day of the championship!

End of season, its all about relegation and promotion. It's the one time where I usually forget about my team (Ipswich) and switch to Jeff Stelling on Soccer Saturday on TV.

You get a funny felling when you wake up; The beginning of the end. You know that later in the day you will be full of nerves and emotions. Even though my club where safe in mid-table.

The first battle was between Hull and Watford fighting for an automatic place in the Premier League. Hull started as favourites but it was so close that just one goal could change everything.

One of my nurses comes from Hull and supports both Hull and Ipswich. She has been trying to support Hull and I have to admit I do look for their results but nothing really more than that! So obviously I wanted Hull to be promoted!

It was a nervous wait after the Watford goalkeeping saga! But in the end Hull were promoted and there were some incredible scenes at the KC!

There was another tight battle between Leicester, Nottingham Forest and Bolton to who got the last play-off spot! I fancied either Bolton or Leicester to get it but it really could have been anyone! Incredibly Leicester play Forest on that final day and Leicester ended up winning with Bolton not getting a good enough result so the foxes snatched the last spot!

Now to the most dramatic battle. This is what football is all about. Sadly Wolves were relegated only a season after being relegated from the Prem! So it was down to Peterborough, Barnsley, Millwall, Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn to fight it out! It was nail bitting to say the least! The last minute of the game and Wednesday and Blackburn were safe. Peterborough looked safe and it looked like Barnsley would be going down. 5 minutes later and Peterborough lost their lead to Palace and were now in the relegation spot!! After fighting hard they just couldn't hold on and were relegated.

WHAT AN END TO THE SEASON!

And I must give a quick mention to my team Ipswich and Tyrone Mings who made his debut and played superb! Also academy player of the year Jack Marriott came on after 60mins and had a good 30min spell for his debut but we sadly lost 2-0
